circuit race

Today we had our circuit race witch was pretty sweet.
In order to complete this task we had to use the techniques that we learned in the previous tasks that we have completed in class, the previous tasks that we had were wheels and distance and measured turns.
Getting ready for this challenge was fun and tricky at the same time. The hard part was getting the turns and making sure the robot didn’t run into any of the obstacles that were in the classroom that were in the way sometimes like the work benches that we couldn’t move.
I used move blocks to complete this challenge the reasons that I used the move blocks was because they are easier to program when using move blocks you only to use one block for both motors if you wish, and when you only need one motor to run you select that motor.
Another thing that I noticed and was a problem was on the day of the race, I think the floor was dirtier then on Friday because my robot had more friction and the front wheel was dragging when making the turns. The reason that I used the wheels that I used was because I also wanted to go for speed at the same time.

  1. Kenny,

Thank you for sharing some of the challenges you overcame with the Circuit Race challenge. Get the turns to be prefect and keep your robot from running into objects was quite difficult.

Not only were you to write a summary of the process you went through to complete the challenge in your blog entry, but I should see where you explained your screen captures from your software.

Here is what I was looking for in your blog entry. (You really should take some time to explain your program.)

+1 Program works and is complete and organized
+1 All Sections of program are labeled
+1 Values of wait blocks are labeled
+1 Values reflect actual mathematical computations
(ie you say robot is turning 85° then the wait block should show it is set to the correct no. of degree rotations)
+1 Write a summary of the process you went through to complete the challenge

  2. Kenny,
I should also note with you, that your notes on your screen capture are not enough to explain that values you used with your Move blocks. You tell what the block does, but not how you set up the block. Obviously this effects you being able to receive credit for these four points:
+1 Program works and is complete and organized
+1 All Sections of program are labeled
+1 Values of wait blocks are labeled
+1 Values reflect actual mathematical computations

If you redo your labels, and post again, please let me know and I will modify your final grade on your blog.
